Johanna Amelie is an indie artist, writer and music producer. She performs internationally both with her band and solo. She has collaborated with varios artists, such as Moritz Krämer, Tristan Brusch, Karo Lynn and Lihme.

Johanna Amelie writes songs about romance, motherhood, death and plastic pollution. Her upcoming EP "URBAN DREAMING" was created during an inspiring three-week stay in Paris and was produced in Berlin. An accompanying short film gives an insight into her creative work as she reflects on the inner and outer storms of our time.

With her baby in her arms, she sings about environmental destruction and the hope that everything will change for the better when we finally let go of our avoidance strategies. She is a member of fem*ergy collective and project manager at Music Women* Germany and is committed to a gender-equitable music industry.

The artist also has a lot to show musically. As a child, Johanna Amelie played the violin, viola, saxophone, piano and flute. Inspired by the songs of Regina Spektor, the then 17-year-old decided to pursue a career as a singer-songwriter. She studied music production and began performing throughout Europe. In the last 5 years Johanna Amelie has released 3 albums and 4 EPs on British and German record labels and played over 300 gigs all over the world (including Iceland, Ghana and New Zealand). Producers such as Gordon Raphael and Pola Roy have supported her along the way. Her song "Bridge" was Robert Elm's (Radio BBC London) favorite song in December 2019 and was played for four weeks.

Poetic feelings are woven into her songs, which are skillfully arranged and reveal Amelie’s personality as a musician.“ –ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE

Fitting seamlessly between Julia Holter, Regina Spektor, and Sharon Van Etten, the much-underrated singer-songwriter from Berlin looks destined for bigger things with her new songs.“ – FAME MAGAZINE

One thing’s for sure: With haunting ballads such as Being Johanna Amelie is setting out on a brighter future and will certainly be on our watch.“ – NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION
