Marius Müller-Westernhagen

Writer

"Das Erste Mal", released in 1975, was Marius Müller-Westernhagen’s debut album which laid the groundwork for an iconic and unstoppable career. His debut "Das Erste Mal" clearly shows his signature style and his unbroken ability to get to the heart of the German language, with music in his very own way. We are proud to have been part of the beginning, representing his very first album, and thus part of his musical journey.

As Westernhagen turned 75 years on December 6, 2023, he can look back on a multifaceted career as a singer, songwriter, producer, and stage artist. Unlike many who tried and failed, in Westernhagen’s case versatility does equal success: He looks back on 23 studio albums, including eight number-one albums, sold over 17 million times. He has written and sung countless hits, played in the smallest clubs and the largest stadiums throughout Germany and beyond, providing the soundtrack to people's lives.

"Westernhagen 75/75 Songs (1974 - 2023)" box set is a comprehensive, lovingly curated retrospective that gathers at least one song from each of his previous albums for every year of his life. The extensively remastered track selection includes rare gems and surprises, spanning from the delicate nuances of his earliest work “Das Erste Mal” with titles such as "Taximann", "Marion aus Pinneberg" and “Wir Waren Noch Kinder” to the raw rock 'n' roll essence of the mid-1980s, his megastar phase and leading up to his recent releases.
