Singer and songwriter Patrizia Ferrara captivates with her emotionally resonant, straightforward songs and intense yet uncomplicated lyrics. Her elegant voice, likened to Billie Holiday and Norah Jones, blends jazz, folk, and blues influences to enchant audiences with her soothing tone and charisma.
Born to an Austrian mother and Sicilian father, Patrizia grew up near the Italy-Austria border, absorbing traditional Neapolitan and 80s pop music. At sixteen, she moved to Vienna, where she worked at Radiokulturhaus and began writing and performing with Brazilian singer Célia Mara. After collaborating with artists from diverse backgrounds, she was inspired to study jazz, completing her voice and piano studies with honors at the Gustav Mahler Conservatory in 2003.
In 2004, Patrizia met American musicians Dean Bowman and Danny Grissett, leading to a New York tour in 2005, sponsored by the Austrian Cultural Institute. She moved to New York that same year and performed for sick and underprivileged children with Healing Arts Initiative Inc.
She also performed in Palestine in 2007 and 2008, supported by Leigh Brady, Mahmoud Yassin, and the Italian General Consul of Jerusalem. In 2009, she released her debut album "Simple Things" independently in New York.
Returning to Vienna in 2012, Patrizia has since been a singer and songwriter for Austrian downtempo producer WALDECK and, since 2020, a featured singer with Joschi Schneeberger Gypsy Swingtet.
