Writers: Klaus Götzner, Angie Olbrich, Dietmar Roberg, Kai Sichtermann

German rock band Ton, Steine, Scherben, founded in 1970 in West Berlin. Known for their politically charged lyrics and DIY ethos, the band became a voice for the leftist counterculture movement in Germany. They combined elements of rock, folk, and punk, creating a raw sound that resonated with the youth of their time.

The band was led by singer and lyricist Rio Reiser, whose poetic and often provocative lyrics tackled themes of social justice, freedom, and revolution.

Their debut album, Warum Geht Es Mir So Dreckig?, released in 1971, set the tone for their unapologetically rebellious approach. Songs like "Keine Macht Für Niemand" and "Macht Kaputt, Was Euch Kaputt Macht" became anthems for political activism.

Ton, Steine, Scherben were not just musicians but also active participants in the protest movements of the 1970s and 1980s, frequently performing at political rallies and squatter communities. Their influence extended beyond their music, as they inspired a generation to question authority and fight for their beliefs.
