Warlock was a German heavy metal band formed in 1982 in Düsseldorf. Fronted by the powerful and charismatic vocalist Doro Pesch, the band quickly gained a following in the metal community for their one-of-a-kind performances and stage presence. The band was known for their blend of traditional heavy metal with melodic elements, characterized by driving guitar riffs and Pesch’s distinctive voice.
Their debut album, Burning the Witches, released in 1984, established them as a force in the European metal scene. This was followed by the successful albums Hellbound and True as Steel. Warlock’s music primarily features themes of rebellion, fantasy and empowerment, resonating with fans on a global level.
In 1987, Warlock released their fourth and final album, Triumph and Agony, which included hits like "All We Are" and "Für Immer." This album brought them international recognition and remains a classic in the metal genre. Doro Pesch continued her career as a solo artist under the name Doro, often referencing works of their band time.
Doro Pesch’s solo career has been highly successful and she is often referred to as the "Queen of Metal." Despite the band’s relatively short existence, Warlock left a lasting legacy in the heavy metal world, influencing many bands and maintaining a devoted fan base to this day.
