Born in Sierra Leone, Mariama lived in Paris for 6 years, worked with German rapper Curse among others, performed with Patrice and went on tour with Max Herre. In 2020 she was nominated for the popNRW award as "Outstanding Artist" and has been on the judging panel ever since. Mariama is part of the fem*energy collective and actively advocated for a more inclusive music business. She regularly plays gigs and sits on panels.

Never defined by genre, her voice and songs are infused with her very own warm, delicate sound that carries emotional, personal, authentic stories. With her roots stretching far across the African and European continents, Mariama moves between places and across genre boundaries - finding and creating her own universe in the musical world of a global Africa.
